A large time difference can make every good call time bad for somebody. Start with both people's real constraints instead of assuming the person who misses you most should stay awake longest.
Map the week accurately
Use a calendar that shows both local times, including daylight-saving changes where relevant. Mark sleep, work, and fixed commitments. Confirm the date as well as the hour when a call crosses midnight for one of you.
Share the awkward slots
If one person always takes the late call, discuss whether the arrangement still feels fair. Alternate when possible or shorten the live window. A regular sacrifice should be a freely chosen arrangement, not a permanent measure of devotion.
Give delayed messages a clear role
Leave voice notes, questions, or photos that do not require immediate replies. Tell your partner what is waiting for them and enjoy receiving their response later. A shared ritual can have two different local start times.
Find one comfortable overlap this week and one backup that does not cost either person needed sleep.
