A paper calendar, shared note, or app can make a ritual visible. The important question is whether the record supports your relationship or makes either person feel watched.
Choose the smallest useful record
A mark for a shared date may be enough. Avoid logging response times, moods, or private activities unless both people genuinely want that information recorded. More detail is not automatically more helpful.
Compare the tradeoffs
Paper can be simple but harder to share across distance. A shared note is flexible but needs clear organization. An app can automate reminders, but you should understand its privacy and export options. Choose based on your actual habit, not the longest feature list.
Make missed days easy to discuss
Do not use a broken streak as evidence of weak commitment. Ask whether the ritual still fits your schedule and whether you want a smaller version. The point is to return to something meaningful, not preserve a number at any cost.
Track one enjoyable shared ritual for two weeks. Stop if the tracking creates more tension than the ritual creates connection.
