There is no magic number of texts that keeps a relationship close. A useful rhythm gives you ways to reach each other while leaving room for work, friends, sleep, and things worth talking about later.
Start and close gently
Try a greeting when you wake, a heads-up before a busy stretch, and a sign-off when you are done for the night. Those are three useful options, not three daily obligations. Agree on which ones reduce confusion for you.
Share the middle of the day
A small photo, a specific thank-you, and a question you can answer later give you three more ways to connect. Send one when it feels natural. Avoid making all six messages into a checklist your partner has to complete.
Leave something to anticipate
The seventh rhythm is a simple next-plan message: “Our episode tomorrow?” It gives the conversation a future point. If the whole routine starts feeling crowded, keep only the parts both people look forward to.
Choose two of these seven rhythms for the coming week. At the end, ask whether they felt warm, useful, or like notifications to clear.
A little closer, every day.
