Texting offers time to edit, pause, and think. In person, conversation includes silences, body language, and interruptions. A different rhythm does not automatically mean your connection was only real online.
Start with something easy to do
A walk, a café visit, or cooking a simple meal can take pressure off constant eye contact and conversation. Choose a setting where you can hear each other and leave comfortably. You do not need a dramatic first scene.
Explain small differences
You might be quieter in the morning or need time to settle after travel. Say so rather than expecting your partner to infer it. Ask about their preferences too; a familiar texting style does not reveal every in-person habit.
Keep curiosity ahead of judgment
If something feels awkward, describe it gently and give it time. Respect physical boundaries and personal space even if online affection has been intense. Comfort is something you build together, not something a visit automatically creates.
Plan one short activity and one unstructured break for your first day. Leave room to change both if you need to.
