A tradition becomes yours through repetition and meaning, not through how elaborate it looks. Start with something you already like doing together and add a detail you can recognize next time.
Choose a simple signature
Maybe every finished anime gets a two-person awards ceremony, or every visit ends with choosing a photo title. Keep the signature small enough that it does not require a new production each time.
Allow different versions
A tradition can have a five-minute form, a long-date form, and an in-person form. The familiar element might be the same question or song. Flexibility lets it travel through changing schedules and circumstances.
Retire what stops feeling good
You are allowed to outgrow a tradition. Discuss it without treating the change as rejection of the memories attached to it. A new ritual can be a continuation of the relationship rather than evidence that the earlier one failed.
Name one thing you already enjoy and add a small repeated ending. Give the tradition a title only the two of you would choose.
